COMBUSTIBLE DUSTS:

Many of the projects carried out by FAF Engineering Services have included bulk materials handling. Many materials handled in the food industry are combustible and capable of causing dust explosions.

FAF Engineering Services has developed a methodology to capture and evaluate the risks associated with the handling of combustible dusts. Techniques are then applied to eliminate the risks or to reduce the risks to acceptable levels. This methodology incorporates requirements of AS/NZS 4745: "Code of practice for handling combustible dusts" and also the various relevant NFPA standards.

Our portfolio includes safe handling of powders and dusts, such as sugar, icing sugar, wheat flour and meal blends. Designs are done according to the latest Australian and international standards for dust explosion prevention, containment and venting.

FAF Engineering Services provide consulting to the food industry on evaluating and managing the risks of handling combustible dusts.
